The Institute of Public Administration (IPA)

The Institute of Public Administration (IPA) is the Irish national centre for development of best practice in public administration and public management.

Their training and education programmes are tailored to the needs of public servants. Their research and publishing services offer an informed voice and forum for discussion and debate on public service issues.

With over 800 staff in two locations in Ireland managing the payroll requirements efficiently was a priority for the Institute of Public Administration’s payroll department.

In 2007, the Institute of Public Administration tendered for and installed a new payroll system. The existing payroll system lacked flexibility to import data and produce the bespoke management reports that are considered crucial for the management of its business.

This seriously constrained the availability of accurate management data and good quality business analysis.

Introducing MegaPay The IPA chose MegaPay for its payroll software as it met all of their requirements. The functionality within the application standardises and automates payroll processes, reduces staff administration and makes essential management information readily available. A number of key determinants behind the decision included MegaPay’s cost effectiveness, simplicity of installation, timely taxation updates and integration into FMS

The IPA’s payroll administration team concluded that Intelligo’s MegaPay offered the most appropriate solution for their needs and improved administration efficiencies allowing staff to focus on strategy issues instead.
